We shall put on a mask

Everyday we shall put on a mask.
To hide the misery of doing our daily task
Instead of being ourselves we will conform
Inside lies the most violent storm
We shall hide from the truth
We have not been ourselves since our youth
We shall not enjoy the childish pleasures
Instead we’ll concentrate on meaningless treasures
When we get to that age
We’ll be disappointed and in rage
That we weren’t gutsy or brave
That we were just a pawn just a slave

Tip of the iceberg

When I look at you
I see past the tip of the iceberg
For some reason you hide your potential
And I am truly puzzled
I know what you’re meant to be
What you have the potential to be
And it is beautiful
I pray you take a leap of faith
Because I know you will not fall
You will spread your wings
Catch the breeze and sail

It's my time

Like I told you I write
Yeah, It’s just to think
It’s so I don’t fight
So I don’t sink
It’s my time
Just mine
Just I

When I look into my reflection

When I look into my reflection
I stare at every imperfection
I appear broken, even shattered
All of me in bits and pieces scattered
From the lack of understanding and compassion
These human instincts were once in fashion
Unfortunately greed, laziness and corruption got hold
Our society became bitter and cold
Where we have this need to conform
Too afraid to practice a passionate art form
Instead we are this predictable bleak gray
Just waiting to die and decay
